We offer plenty of incredibly interesting amusements which will surely make your holiday fascinating and unforgettable. Rafting down the Dunajec river from Zakopane is one of the greatest experiences to have and it is also a good way of admiring beautiful views of Pieniny mountains. Raftsmen are going to make your trip even more exciting by telling old legends and stories linked with the river and surroundings. Apart from the rafting itself you may also have an opportunity to sightsee the Castle in Niedzica, the water dam or the Miniature Park of Podhale, Orawa and Spisz.
Did you know..
The inception of the Dunajec River Gorge is not discovered until nowdays. Legends say there was a famous knight called Ferkowicz who would chase the king of snakes, and the meandering way he passed through would become the Dunajec River Gorge. Others say the mouth of the Dunajc River was grooved by the King Bolesław Chrobry himself. If you want to find out more information ask the raftsmen (flisaks) they will satisfy your curiosity…
What is there to see?
During the Pieniny trip, apart form the main tourist attraction which is the rafting, you may choose one of the other amusements:
A ship cruise around Czorsztyn Lake (during the cruise you may admire the water dam, the ruins of Czorsztyn Castle, Niedzica Castle, Czorsztyn open-air museum as well as unique mountain views). The ship cruise is an adventure which will stay in your memory for long.
The Castle in Niedzica – a place where Janosik was prisoned and tortured.
The Miniature Park of Podhale, Orawa and Spisz plus the rope course.
The Czorsztyn Water Dam with its spectacular 3D painting.
On the way back to Zakopane we will stop by in Dębno and visit the monumental wooden Church from the XV century which is on the UNESCO list – the lecture with the curator lasts about 20 min.
When do we start?
The raftsmen season lasts from 1st April until 31st October (whole week round). Plan your trip on any day you wish during the week.
