DESCRIPTION
We invite you to a walk along the Sucha Bela stream in the Slovak Paradise with numerous waterfalls, bridges metal ladders to climb up the stream canyon. The cascading water forms unforgettable waterfalls. It is a trail for medium advanced tourists with reasonable fitness and no fear of heights.
SUCHA BELA GORGE (SUCHÁ BELÁ)
A one way trail starts in Podlesok into the Sucha Bela stream gorge with its numerous wooden and metal bridges and ladders. On our way we pass the beautiful Okienkovy and Korytovy waterfalls – some of the most beautiful and visited places in the whole national park.
KLÁŠTORISKO CLEARING
Located in the southern part of the Slovak Paradise Kláštorisko clearing (790 m.a.s.l.) with a restaurant and ruins of a 13 c. Cartusian cloister. The clearing used to be a refuge for the locals fleeing from the Tartar hordes. It is a trail junction. It is from here that Kláštorská roklina stream starts to eventually join the Hornad.
THE HORNAD GORGE
One of the most spectacular walks in the Slovak Paradise comprising over 12 kilometres’ trails over the Hornad river.
The most difficult sections can be negotiated on metal shelves/ steps (the so called „stupaczki”) fastened to perpendicular cliffs and secured with metal chains over the current. Almost the whole trail is a natural reserve. We will feel our adrenalin rise here.
